even more yours
something so satisfying.
when something breaks. something precious, maybe not valuable, but useful or meaningful. maybe it's a circuit, an injection-molded part, a plastic clip that broke off and will never be found or fixed to its original spec.
and you choose to fix it.
and it's not the same as it was new.
but it's now even more yours.
with a glob of glue on the side, and a missing screw from the disassembly that you lost, and a piece of tape holding it together in the way that glue or screw or original manufacturer's specifications didn't allow for.
and there's something so lovely, so liberating, about the value you create when you fix something.
could've thrown it away, bought a brand new one, for less time, and if you value your time, less money.
but this fixed one, this one's better. this one's mine. this one's so satisfying.
